“In the cozy area of Petralona, the interior designer Efi Drakopoulou has designed “the Berlin”, a bookstore named after the American novelist Lucia Berlin (but after the city of Berlin as well…).
Its design was inspired aiming to become a book spot for the locals and a welcome place for the passers-by to visit and feel the comfort of spending time choosing their favourite books.
The identity of the bookstore drew upon influences by L.Berlin’s colourful book covers and Wes Anderson fairy tale settings. The interior designer has designed four bookcases in the form of arches with wooden shelves for the books display. The floor has been coated by colourful cement and ,in the middle of the store, there are two wooden desks covered by concrete tiles of the same colour. The logo and the light sign are designed in pale pink shades. An architectural study of recessed lighting and interior plants comes to add to this place a sense of relaxation that every visitor wants to indulge in.”
